CAN I CONNECT YOUR BOILER IN PARALLEL TO A WOOD BOILER?

A: Yes, you can.

The connection is made in parallel using sense valves as shown in the drawing above. In this version, the transition from one source to another will be done automatically, without the need for taps. That is, as long as the fire in the wood boiler burns, the water temperature will keep the electric boiler off, but when the fire in the wood boiler is extinguished and the temperature in the house will fall below the one set by the room thermostat, the central heating electric boiler will start automatically. We can see that the directional valve placed on the flow between the electric central heating boiler and the wood boiler will not allow the circulation of water through the wood boiler when the heating is performed by the electric central heating boiler, but only through radiators. Likewise, if the fire in the wood boiler starts, the electric central heating boiler will stop automatically.
